I finally completed a very topical and marathon poem, 'The Chosen One' which is actually a story on global warming/climate change/Nuclear disarmament. I bet if you read the first 10 stanzas and like them, you will like to read all 136.

After/while reading the poem, try thinking :

Who was the Mother?
Who was the Chosen One?
What are the Nuclear Weapons?
What was the Estate?
Why did the estate not appear to have boundaries?
Why did The Chosen One become a monster?
Who were the other monsters?
Why did the other monsters look like the Chosen One?
Why did groups of monsters fight amongst themselves?
Who were the siblings of the Chosen One?
Why did they have so many skills?
Why did some siblings die and some survive?
Who were the surviving siblings?

There are many more answers to the questions which are never asked but may come to your mind while reading the poem.

Here go the first 10 stanzas of the poem

"The Chosen One"

A mother’s prayers were answered, a child was born.
To his perpetual welfare and well-being, she was sworn.

Looking at her very unique creation, she was charmed.
When he touched her softly, her heart really warmed.

Beautiful, cute, adorable and having skin so mild,
He became the proud mother’s most special child.

Of the several children, he was her favourite son.
He got extra love and care; he was the ‘Chosen One’.

She gave him everything she had with lots of smiles.
Love, food, water and a big shelter of many miles.

Although she always loved all her daughters and sons.
Yet, she was more the mother of the chosen one’s.

A remarkable, loving, caring and doting mother.
She only cared for her own brood and none other.

To prepare for challenges in the life ahead, that may lay.
She protected and provided them in every possible way.

Infants soon became kids and aware of their mother.
She had always fed them, from an ever full udder.

A mother so resourceful, any child would have, rather.
The kids had never known & never missed their father.
