I am a reluctant Poet and Writer. I started writing poetry since I was studying in Class XII. I used to write with Pen name of Vijay itself until a few years later but changed to Shiken thereafter.

The first poem I wrote was "Unki Zulfein". I wanted to write a funny poem - ending the poem by saying Kyonki baadal chhaye huye the or something like that. But a sudden thought changed the meaning of the lines I wrote and turned me into a poet/Shair/Kavi.

Besides poetry, most of which was written many years ago, I have also written a humour book which I will release sometimes later this year.

I could have been a lyricist for bollywood. Mr Shravan Rathod (Nadeem-Shravan fame) had taken 4 of my poems and wanted to compose them for movies. But as it is employment in companies that earns me livelihood, I was transferred from Mumbai to Delhi and had to leave the pursuit of being a bollywood lyricist.

I have worked in ICI India, Ranbaxy, Dumex  India, Vodafone and I am currently working as Chief Financial Officer of a public listed company. I do not actively write poems other than for my children for their school now.
